Business Analysts applying for this role do not need experience with ServiceNow applications. Our most successful Business Analysts have 2-5 years of experience helping customers articulate, define, and update current and goal state processes for implementation in an application or system. The key processes we help customers with are budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, and invoicing (showback or chargeback). A background in budgeting or cost modeling and strong Excel skills, particularly related to data analysis and data management, is strongly recommended for anyone applying for the Business Analyst role. ServiceNow Platform knowledge is preferred.
Business Analysts work directly with the customer team to capture budget, cost model, or invoicing requirements. Once requirements are prepared, the Business Analyst captures sample financial data sets for analysis and evaluation for use within the application. The Business Analyst supports the developers in the implementation of the requirements, including data transforms, dashboard design, workflow design, and testing and supporting customer User Acceptance Testing. Business Analysts can also support customer training sessions and other post implementation support and project close out.
